Default Good choices in shocks when you changed to lowering springs?

What's everyone running or does anyone have suggestions on reasonably priced pieces that will give a nice ride with lowering springs?

Koni's are really the way to go when lowering the car. However they are kind of expensive, but they are worth it. I know strano sells them as well as some specially valved bilsteins, but I don't think he recommends them for lowered cars.

You could put some SLP Bilsteins on it, or KYB agx.

Yes, Konis are about a "grand" for all 4. That's expensive! The Bilsteins and KYBs are around $400 a set. Unfortunately, for these cars, these days, that's NOT expensive. Spend any less, and you'll really see what the phrase "you get what you pay for" means....

$400 is better. What is the best option in that range?

Your best bet is to wait until next week and then give Sam a call when he gets back from nationals. He's the F-Body Suspension Master.

Finally a link with most of the major shocks for our cars (I think).

Out of these in the <$500 range what is my best bet or does someone have info on the KYB's and where to order?

Still researching. So in the <$500 range for a set what will get me back to a decent smooth ride with the 1" BMR springs all four corners? Those Bilsteins are supposed to ride good but are they valved right from Speed Inc? Looking at those and the KYB's

I want a 6k square foot house, want it to be cheap to heat and my mortgage to be $300 a month. I can wish for it--it ain't gonna happen.

Basically the same with the shocks. You can wish for $500 shocks that make your car ride nice (though let's not forget you have lowering springs which are stiffer and shorter). But shocks are SPRING DAMPERS. While some of the $500 or less shocks work pretty well with stock springs, asking them to deal with more rate an in a lesser range of motion is like asking for that big old house that costs next to nothing.

What do you suggest since Konis won't fit in my wallet?

Beats me......

We have a lot of options, but I'm not one to make recommendations based on next to nothing for me to go on. What I know about your situation is:

You want springs
You want the ride to be good
Koni's don't fit your wallet.

Not much to go on.... Trying to build an engine based on "I want a cam, want it to idle, and a Lingenfelter doesn't fit my wallet" doesn't help an engine builder too much when trying to build you a motor that makes you happy.
