Raced a 5.7L GTO Heading home tonight I have a yellow gto pull next to me and give a little rev, i follow him to u turn. He slows, i pull up about a full car behind him and he honks 3 times, i give him the jump. I then pulled 4 cars by end of 1st, and another 3 or so in 2nd and shut it down. This was my first race since i got the cam installed.

I have the same cam in an M6 car and FIRST GEAR IS USELESS.

Not saying my car is the fastest thing in the world, the kid driving the gto probably couldnt drive to save his life, i was just stating how the race went. And i have no problems in first gear with that cam, i have no gears or anything yet, so maybe thats why its not a prob for me. Also, if it matters, we were at about a 10-15 roll.

To the OP, it's often hard to tell how far you are ahead of a person when you are racing. It's possible just not probable that you were that far ahead of him. Also, if you have that thing set up right and it's tuned correctly I don't see this being to very far off from the truth.

4 cars by the end of first... when he was honking 3 times... was he trying to get the person in front of him to move out of the way LoL

Maybe the GTO had it in second? Second gear from 10mph against another LS1 with a cam and I guess I could see it happening. Or the OP couldn't judge very well the distance between them. Either way, good kill. 
I could definitely see the new/inexperienced driver afraid to put his newly acquired car in first gear while rolling at 10-15 mph.

We played in traffic for a minute before running him.. I had my asa cam at the time. I thought I'd smoke him. Ran 3 times from a roll. 3 real close races, each time I got him by maybe a 1/4 of a car. He kept wanting to go more. He pulled a little on the low end, but I made up for it on the top.
Ended up chatting with him for a minute. He had long tubes and a tune. I was real impressed with how it ran.
