Default Steam Tube seal rings

You gotta be kidding me! The dealer wants like $8 a piece for these and you need 4. Surely someone sells them cheaper....anyone?

I've put Permatex Ultra Black on them and reused them on a few occasions. Works good.

You can't RTV them..?
I would think that would work as long as you let them sit over night and dry out.

Call the local parts stores, I get them for $2 a piece, a few companies make them, the ones I get are by Four Seasons and they are called Sealing Washers. I think the part number is 24355 but I may be off a number.

I bought 14mm oil drain plug sealing washers, white bag from in the back at Advance Auto. $1.29 each. They had them boxed on the floor for $1.89.
I hope these work, I don't want to have to change them after the engine is in the car.

Be sure not to go crazy tight when installing those banjo bolts. Otherwise it will be hell when your trying to break them lose in the car.

I swapped out the OEM piece for 6AN fittings and am running braided hose to a Y fitting then a new hose back to the radiator....this should increase the coolant flow through the head, and keep the back cylinders a little cooler.

Either do a AN swap or buy the seals. I tried to reuse my old ones with RTV, shitboxes leaked everywhere.

Could you link the fittings you used? I'd like to do something like that as I already hate having to deal with these things and I haven't even gotten them off yet.

1/4NPT to 6AN in the head
2) 6AN 90* hose ends
2) 6AN 45* hose ends
6AN stainless hose
6AN to hose barb "Y"
think it was 5/8 rubber hose

Makes it super easy to take off to remove the heads also

Awesome! Thanks for that info. I'm trying to get the heads off now and the steam tubes are pissing me off. I'm going to huck them and use this stuff.

I did similar with mine, except I used a tee fitting in the back of one head. The tee fitting had 1/4" npt on one leg and -6an on the other two legs. Then I just connected the two heads together with a short section of -6an hose. From the head with the tee I have the line going directly to the radiator.
Just worked out a bit cheaper than a y-block setup and it definitely flows more water than the stock setup.

I built it a different way using some parts from Lowes.. they threaded right in.
