Default GM controller #19201861 tune?

Just got a LS3 crate with the GM controller kit #19201861. Eventually I will change the cam and add a 100hp shot of gas. Can this controller be re tuned/flashed easily?

Yes, as in some previous posts others are tuning them. You will need to get someone to program a VIN number into the ECM as it doesn't have one. After that your HP Tuners will work.

I finally tried this last week on a LS3 PCM that I have and it worked.

The hard part was getting a Vin and then getting someone with a Tec II to program the ECM. You will need a harness atached to power up the ECM for the process.

I got most of the information from this thread

https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...=845442&page=6

And more info from HP Tuners.

FWIW thes controllers are designed to allow the use of a the GM Performance Parts crate engines. GMPP does not encourage or support the modification of the ECM.

I needed to edit mine because I am using it as a dyno harness.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info but I think I may struggle to find a TecII (Whatever that is) here in the UK.

EFILive works fine with it. Even without the vin. You can even put in a vin for free with our scan tool or tuning tool. It dont use up any licenses to do that. It takes all of 2 seconds to perform the vin change.

No tech2 would be needed.

Hmm.. I may need to look a this option a little closer. I need new tuning software too.. so the EFI live w/ GMPP setup might be the way to go.

Just to let you know we have recently added read support for the GMPP pcm's and if all goes well in beta testing will be publicly available soon.

With the tuning question answered, this turns into a great option.

We'll be working on the calibrations this week but anyone that would like the beta is more than welcome to contact support regarding it.

Very interesting. I need to look into that option. I have a friend who is going to offer these units pre loaded with a dummy vin. Last I heard HP wasn't interested in working out a soloutin. This would make it a lot easier for those who modify their GM Crate engines and need to tweek the tune.

Robin

OOPS! hahaha, posted before I finished reading the entire thread. Looks like HP will do something after all...

Question

Can some one with this harness measure the main trunk length?

Also do these harnesses have provisions for cruise control, or have the wires been removed?

bowtie, in your case, i would say efilive would be a better choice for your tune on that controller. The cam makes it needed to fix the ve calculations in it to make the fueling correct with that program.

Default Help needed with Base tune L98 (= L76 w.o. AFM) with E67

Sorry to bring this thread back up from the dead.

Jesse, I called you earlier this week and way I understood it is that there isn't too much you can do with this controller? I would like to hear/read a bit more to come to a decision to where I will send the GMPP E67 I have for a base tune for the L98 (= LS2 with LS3 top end or L76 w.o. AFM or you can call it the 6.0 version of the LS3) I'm building into my 67 Camaro (have a look @ http://www.pro-touring.com/forum/vbp...?do=view&g=193).

I live in the Netherlands and there is no support around here for this nor is there any experience with tuning LS engines. I would like to educate myself in due time with regards to tuning with HPtuners or EFIlive but right now, after talking to a couple of tuners, I'm more or less lost about what to do. So please guys, if/when possible, help me out as much as possible, I would really appreciate it.
