Default stupid brake question

Im at work and the GF took her car to a brake place and the guy told me that the rear calipers on her 99 firebird were actually acuators (sp?) and u needed a special tool to get the pistons back in to get the rotor on. Is this true

Find another shop---quickly.

The calipers on the back of 98+ cars are just single piston standard calipers. The e-brake stuff is inside the rotor. You need no special tool to compress the piston.

W.....O......W....

Jesus my most expensive bolt-on brake package with ATE rotors, Hawk pads, Stainless lines and fluid is $670. Hell a set of Brembo's and Hawk pads all around are $450, and it's cetainly not $350 worth of labor to install that stuff.

I'm in the wrong business.

Well, there is that space under the shop..... and it's not like you're usually busy or anything during the week, right?
