trans pan compatibility
was wondering if the pan from a 97-up 4t65e would go right on to that of GXP. Im guessing it would, but i know they made changes to the case for the starter. I just want to make sure the pan is the same and would bolt right up.

You need a 98 + pan for our cars. SOME 97's with the 4t65e have smaller holes on the pan because they have a smaller bolt. The shape is the exact same for all years though 97 - 08. Hope this helps.

Perfect, and that was a typo shoulda been 98+. I've got a 2006 case that was in my 98 GTP so I thought it may be possible. But didn't know if the pan design changed. I am gonna do a filter change soon and want to swap out my stock one for a zzp aluminum one. Figure its just sitting in the garage not doing anything and certainly wont hurt to have the extra fluid and ribbed pan to help keep it a little cooler.

It is. Its on a zzp built Trans (2006 HD case) I bought new a few years ago for my GTP. I put 46k on it then demodded the car and sold just about everything from the car.
