i copied impss07 ...
lol, ive been wanting to do this for a while, but was intending to paint them with ACTUAL paint, and clear ... so i was looking for a temporary way to check the look, and had found plastidip examples all over the place, but was still very leary of its actual effectiveness ... and when i saw impss07 thread when he did it to his aftermarket rims ... i decided to go for it ...
its not hard at all, really does peel up easily, yet has great adhesion properties and seems incredibly durable ... and at $5 a can, using 2 full cans ...
i love getting major changes in aesthetics for cheap ...

it did really change how much i like the stock wheels ... maybe because mine are really dulled out from winters ... but now that they match the color of the car and everything, they dont seem to stand out as much, and the "spokes" of the rims dont look so big ... like gm went "aahhh screw it, these giant things look good enough"

Did you buy black lugnut covers or paint your lugs?Yea im trying to find a good overlay for the centercaps but i am down to one choice which are like $20. I currently just have the "bowtie" cap overlay but all the chrome sticks out.

not truly murdered out, but close enough for my tastes ... as i think flat black looks stupid on a car, and i hate tints because i have HORRIBLE night vision, i cannot see worth a **** at a night, and tints just compound the problem ... not worth the problem vs. look

Drjesus616 I agree "flat black" looks horrible but what I like is the all gloss black look. The tints on my car are all %5 but it is real dark at night but then again if I remove the front I would remove everything becuz over here cops will trip over any tint in the front.
I think no tint up front and tint evrything else looks off just not my taste

the contrast and obvious stupidity of illinois man ... Cook county, is one of the most, if not most expensive counties in the country, cost of living, taxes, property tax ... gas is already well over $4 a gallon for regular ...cigarettes are nearly $10 a pack - however, Dupage county, where i live, which is exactly next to cook, gas is around 355 for regular, cigarettes are about 5 a pack ... and sales tax is monumentally cheaper

so i redid my headlights as well ... so i think it is safe to say i am now completely murdered/ blacked out ... or rather, as far as i intend to go ... i ******* hate tints, because i have horrible night vision, and wholeheartedly believe that law enforcement officials pull tinted vehicles over more often than non-tinted ones ... especially here in illinois, because they only just recently allowed 30 percents ... and alot of cops are hesitant or blind to the difference
anyways, tint rant aside, the chrome surround on the driving lights needs to painted ... but the back of the bowtie emblem, and the "SS" s on the doors, will stay chrome to highlight/contrast them against the car ... and i may very well get some new slash cut 3" or 4" exhaust tips, as the original ones are so very pitted ... and i cant decide whether or not to paint them black or leave them alone ...
black exhaust tips, or chrome ?
anyhow ... heres the finished murdered/ blacked out girl
