Default manifold/supercharger question

So I'm skimming through the ebay supercharger listing and com across this. It's a Vortech/Lysholm supercharger kit for the 5.3l Tahoe. What i would like to know is if that manifold would fit our heads? The placement of the snout might be an issue but can it be swapped or rotated 180 so that it is on the left side? And the elbow where the throttle body mounts needs to point straight back but that is just a matter of bolting on a new one. Any thoughts opinions?

It's been discussed many times. IIRC there's just too many fitting issues. And immediate response to the front wheels isn't exactly useful when reaching higher numbers.

Yea but we have traction issues already. It be fun to roast the tires and have that supercharger sound. I know there was talk about maybe not fitting under the hood so why not cut a hole get a piece of plexy warp it a little so that it gives a hump and be like the zx1 boys.

The snout might not even be the right length to line up the belt. Might need a custom size belt and the power steering stuff would probably be in the way as well.

Tuning whipple chargers sucks also btw.

Just get the turbo, it's the best option.

Curious why its any different than tuning with any other supercharger (KB, Eaton, TVS, etc)

Isn't there a way to only get boost from the S/C at certain throttle or air velocities? That would be sweet..

Would be more of a headache than anything. You can't just flip the snout, how would it couple to the rotors then? And like it's been said the snout is probably 1) the wring length to line up 2) not in a spot where it'll nit be an issue. P,us your throttle body would be pointing right at hour passenger strut tower. Unless you had a custom piece made that puts the throttle body back around the area of the original location.

Just go turbo or spray. Not worth the hassle.

I just came across it looking for a supercharger for a carb blow through set up for a 5.3l truck block and thought hmmmm. I would like to get close to 400hp at the wheels but bought we will ever get there NA. We will need some sort of power adder for that i'm sure. I am not a fan of NO so it will be boost. I like the idea of that supercharger because of the cooler being in the manifold. I don't want to have to run intnercooler piping.

Can I assume that no one yet makes an actual SC kit for the LS4?

No room and clearance issues a plenty. If you want boost, go turbo, it's better anyway.

Try getting a custom jackshaft and mounting it backwards! Just kidding. Go turbo or spray like the other guy said.

Well **** the non IC kit will get you there. And if you have E85 in your neck of the woods you wouldn’t need the meth either.
