I've had this happen to me a couple of times too. Also, the fuel gauge goes all the way to empty. Normally I hook it up to the scanner and clear the codes. (There aren't any, I just hit the clear button) It works fine after that. I have no clue what has caused it though.

I had this happen last year. Replace your coolant temperature sensor as it has stopped giving an output to the computer. It is located on the front left of the block next to plug #1 When it fails the computer will be in protection mode to error on the side of safety. When it happened to me, the outdoor temp was -30c and the engine was definately not overheating.

I must be and idiot I unplugged it last weekend to install the NGK plug that Amason had to send me because they sent 1 wrong plug and forgot to put it back. Thank you sir
