What's up guys? I just picked up a 07 Impala SS and am really enjoying it so far. I've already did a tune up and modded the stock airbox. I was jus wondering if you guys could fill me in on the must do mods and the big no no's with these cars. There's a lot of good info on gmls4.com but that search function doesn't like me too well lol. Car has 88k miles on it. Thanks.

A custom tune from diablewtune.com is one of the better mods for the money.

As far as things to not do, don't flush the transmission. I'm not sure why, but everybody says that. I'm sure someone can chime in to say. I think it locks it up but I don't know what would cause that.

You need to work on that quarter mile time though, damn. Stock it should be running at least a half second faster than that.

Well the DA was 2000+ and that 60' is pretty shitty but she wouldn't hook no matter what. I put in TR55s gapped @.055 and modded the airbox and she ran way better after that to me. I should be getting a tune from a local guy here real soon. Thanks for the info dude.

My transmission started crapping out at around 73k, but I beat the **** out of my car on a daily basis. It's good now and cost me under 400 bucks to fix.

I have 108,xxx on the stock tranny here. Bought it with 75,000 on the clock. Was previously owned by an old couple who traded it in. Since I've had it replaced the water pump, starter, front wheel bearings, transmission cable, tires and a fuel injector. The next maintenance will be on the cv axles and the front and rear struts. Ugh, dreading the day the tranny goes bad in this thing.

What did the $400 get you?

My warranty was out, but only by 20 days or so, so they cut me a break. The pressure control valve **** out and other little things. It didn't need to be completely rebuilt but it was still trans problems.
