speedmaster 96mm intake manifold swap thread
#81
Yeh been working on it off and on for the past 2 months, almost done with the port work, finished mocking up the MAP sensor port and now i just need to fit it for a gasket. Only thing i have left after that is to order the two gaskets I need and the throttle body and start test fitting again. Hoping to have it installed next month, weather has been goofy so I get some warm days and then it goes freezing cold again.

as long as it seals good, there wasnt enough material there to make a port the same style that ours uses, and to make a oring style that just presses up against the map sensor base requires it to hang out a little bit off the side. Not to mention barely any thread there to hold it in, gotta find the right bolt so it isnt hanging half way into the runner.

Don't know if we need spacers as rails don't have center piece but we mocked up both ways I still got to get the fuel line that connects two rails I though it would come with rails

The kit that came with the rails was more expensive, and wasnt worth the money, didnt trust those made in china rails honestly. If i do have to do the aftermarket rails over the OEM one, it will be a HOLLEY set with the crossover hose. I would like to use the factory rail though for convenience of line placement. I have the FAST spacers I just havent test fit it to see if it props the rail up enough to clear the taller runners.

yeh i thought it was gonna be a problem but the spray pattern on our injectors is a 10-15* arc and the fast spacers seem to be built with that in mind. It actually helps the fuel spray at a wider pattern in the cylinder by lifting it slightly out of the port.
