Default The last of a dying breed?

So this thread is more of a discussion rather than anything. Anyway me and my girl went out to midnight madness which is at our gateway track here in St. Louis. Well it's really in Madison il but only 15 mins away. Anyhow...while we were there, I noticed 0 ls4s, besides myself that is. Has anyone else noticed this? That is if anyone still hits the drag.

I'm even starting to see less and less of us around, just wondering if this was the case In other states? Oh and with my old suspension and tune only I ran low 13s lol...

Man, I rarely see 4th gen F-body cars at anything around here, maybe just a few. W-body cars are really rare to see! Glad you are having fun!

I got my 01 ws6 3 years ago. Literally went from me and 2 others to now this year seeing 3 more f body's in my small town. I don't know if it's coincidence or they are getting more affordable but I will tell you what. The looks I get when I drive mine are what's that. Cause you don't see to many of them anymore. Best car I've ever owned.

Against a cammed g8...he ran 15.091 @ 95 mph I ran 16.326 at 75, such a terrible first run lol. Then my second I ran 13.613 @ 105 and a modded go cart ran 15.064 @ 94 mph. Lol off the line the go cart wheel popped it had so much torque. First two runs ever in dragging at the track. It just made me sad that I saw no ls4 impalas, montes or gxps. I saw one trail blazer parked however but I didn't get to chit chat with the owner.

Edit. Mods are hptuned, and res delete and motor mount flip. And tranny cooler

What ls4 car do you have? I find it hard to believe you trapped 105 unless the track was a slightly downhill grade.

according to that, you are looking at the wrong car lol you ran 15.064 @ 94.69 the first past and 15.091 @ 95.67 the second pass.

LOL. I felt proud of myself! I need to do some more mods lol. I just hope when I do mods, the gf doesn't decide she wants kids then I gotta get a 4 door ...I've been thinking about a ls1 intake soon though with a small cam. Idk. There's no other ls4 folks here anymore that lives by me that I can shoot the can with lol.

Look like you ran 15's both times? First run it looks like the G8 ran the 13.6, must have been the go cart that ran 16's. Least you beat him . Not so bad, these cars are hard to launch. Dont expect to run real fast unless you got a big wallet with these cars. Good job none the less

Thanks man lol. I'm still in shock that there was literally none running on the track. But...I'm kinda wanting to mod mine out so I can be the only one running and keeping up with folks. On the other hand, I'm not sure if it's quite worth it in the long run.

Only you can answer if it was worth doing something, personal gratification counts for something too. As for drag racing, probably not the best platform unless you got deep pockets or see a turbo set up in your future. If I modded mine it probably might still never see the track, its just not that important to me at my age. Have fun with the car, that's what hot rodding is all about.
