4.10s with a4 and say a 503,306 cam

4.10s with a4 and say a 503,306 cam would the gear be to much for a stock a4 with lets just say those comparably suggested cams and on a stockish longblock with just the cam and spray......what would the trap speed rpm be???? is there anyone outhere running this???its not a daily driver!!!!!would this gear be better vs a 3.73??? tire size would be 26*15 or even a 17"et street slick

When I had the cc503, 3.73's, 26" M/T's I was looking to spray the car with a 150 shot and I remember figuring out that 4.10's would put me into 4th and 3.90's would probaly have me at the very top of 3rd or just into 4th with my shiftpoints. If you did infact go into 4th then you could fix that by running some 28" tires. Here's a link to a calculator to figure all of that out:

If your say running the cc503 with a 6300 shiftpoint and 26" tires then you will max out at ~131mph in 3rd w/ 3.73's, ~125mph w/ 3.90's, and ~119mph w/ 4.10's. I trapped 110mph with the cc503 and through my auto so in that situation 3.90's would probaly be the best unless your spraying over 150 shot. With say a 6500-6600 shiftpoint that you may see with the cc306 you may be able to get away with 4.10's depends how much you spray.

well idk what that car runs but we know it will see 150 shot on there and 3.23 gears on there now and will go up to 3600stall gear???????
i have a buddy of mine with this setup i described earlier on bolt ons with a4 and 3.23 gear running a 150 shot running 11.60's at 117 so the gear change wouldnt be much more radical then...with a 4.10

I ran 4.10s with a TH350 in a bolt on LT1 street car. Wasn't something you'd haul the family on vacation, but it was driveable. I wouldn't be afraid to put 4.56s in a 4 speed auto, especially with a non daily driver.

i got 4.10 in a A4 with mods in sig.
no times yet, but i love em, car is not a DD , traction is a big issue on street tires
At the track i will be running 26" mt's shifting at 6300-6400, NA
