I too wonder about that. Another is no Lexan. If your meeting the weight requirement, what's the difference? The only reason I mention this is, the Percy's back window replacement looks like a good way to drop a few pounds, just like the minitubs. No disrespect intended, just curious.

this is due to the increase in operating RPM over a stock PCM
This was a highly debated issue and it was settled on leaving the OEM laminated windshield for safety reasons.

LTX Extreme N/A (Naturally Aspirated)
Must have LT1-based engine. No power adders permitted. Heads must retain the factory 23 deg valve angle. Only stock/stock ported intakes will be allowed. Welded intakes not permitted. LT1 PCM only. Must retain opti spark. Coil per plug allowed. DOT approved radials only, drag radials permitted, must retain one of the following aspect ratios (275/50-15, 275/60-15, 255/50-16, 275/40-17, 315/35-17). Must have stock-style suspension. 4-links and ladder bars not permitted. Mini-tubbing not permitted
I know I am not legal for this class anyway, but I still dont see the advantage of a minitub.

How come in extreme street last years rules were clear about (no converted SBC heads) and this years are not??
And,what about solid roller cam's in extreme street? I don't know many "street cars" that have solid roller cam's

I agree there aren't many...but I do know a few. A good friend of mine has a solid roller Z28 that would fit the rules to this class. I think his best pass is a low 11. The limiting factor is not the heads or the cam...its the intake, transmission, and tire options

i can agree with you on the cylinder heads, but a solid roller cam is more of a "race car" part. It's a proven fact that solid rollers don't last on the street.I drive my car 300 miles a week and plan on driving to the shootout and i run low 11's with a hyd roller. How many "AVERAGE JOE" daily driver style LT1's have solid roller cams?
As for the limiting factor being intake, trans and tire.I'v seen alot of 10sec car with a OD trans, alot of 9sec car on the tires listed and the stock intake ain't that bad..
