Grinding/Rubbing noise??
Installed SFC as well as K-member out so the factory torque arm has been removed and reinstalled. Under hard accelerating either from a dig or roll I get a strange grinding/rubbing noise from the rear somewhere, one thing I do know is that it is not tires rubbing fenderwells...any ideas let me have em the only real idea I have is that I didn't have weight on wheels when I tightened the torque arm, would that cause this noise?? Also are you supposed to go back and retorque SFC after some mileage??

Yeah I understand that it has something to do with wieght transfer but it is almost impossible to duplicate with the car in the air. I was hoping that someone has had something similar happen to them so I could gain a little bit of direction instead of going in blind

It could be so many things. The only time I had a similar issue was when I put in a LS1 DS, under acceleration it would rub my saftey loop. Once I got under the car it was pretty obvious, look for shiney spots on things. I also had my torque arm hitting the under side of the car at once, but Ive got an aftermarket piece.

which bolts did you tighten to 100 ft lbs?? The LCAs and the 4 in the front that attach to the frame rail?? That is what I was thinking I was just going to put it up on a chassis lift, loosen everything with weight on wheels and then torque the snot out of it.

grinding noise
Hello,
All it takes is even though you think everything's tighten enough on the SFC, they have to be tighten evenly....just food for thought
Thanks Again,
Brad
