Default Starting problems

I have a 94 SS clone with 168K miles on it with many mods from LTs to cam and rear gears. I have had no trouble with this car for the last 5 or so years of ownership except fuel pump and Opti. Lately when I start it for the first time of the day it fires before I can even release the key but after I have driven it and go to restart it just doesn't want to start. This can vary from 10 minutes to 8 hours later. But if I depress the accelerator just a bit it will finally start..... I have no codes. Other than that nothing else. Any ideas????

I have a Autometer fuel gauge and cranking it's about 40 psi. Fuel filter has about 5K miles on it.

Sounds like another case of classic ICM heatsoak failure.

What does ICM stand for and hours later???? I'm sure it had completely cooled down by then.

It just cranks and acts like it wants to start and it will eventually but if you just depress the accelerator it fires right up??
