bolt on A4 95 z28 8.93@80 1/8th
I went to the track this weekend and ran that time. The mods are mid length headers(with an exhaust leak) stock y-pipe with gutted cats and a cutout, also a homemaid air intake. The car has 163k miles on it and it has the stock tune on it to my knowledge. It also has the stock 2.73 rear end in it. it was good weather out probley 50 degrees and i only made 1 pass. I havent done a thing to the car since i got it except rebuild the transmisson. It does have some probelems that casue it to run extremely rich so a tune and tune up would do it alot of good i think. my next plans are to put in a aftermarket fuel pump and then a nitrous kit and see how much spray it can take before it blows the F up. was just going to get yalls thoughts on how slow or pathetic a time this is as i dont know alot about these cars since i came from a ls1.

Why the hell would you do that? lol Also gears should make wonders of difference for you since youll be going from 2.73. Atleast a 3k stall. And fix the problems at hand. That should net him around, what 8.1-2 range?

My car ran a 8.801 bone stock with just a repl panel air filter.
There's definitely some room for improvement there. Just take your time and get the little issues sorted out, and definitely get a good tune in the thing.
That can make all the difference in the world.
A gear (3:55 or 3:73) and some DR's and you would be running a hell of a lot faster than that in the 1/8 IMO

haha its not like i did it purposly my ls1 was totaled and i have next to nothing in this car so im just seeing how fast i can go in the underdog LT1. the ls1 guys i was there with seemed to think those times were killer for a lt1. i think it has alot more in it, the other lt1s at the track were running 9.2-4's though. we are almost 1k above sea level so thats a factor too, i plan honestly on putting a Th350 4k stall 4.56 gears and maybe a trans brake along with a 150 shot and see how fast she will go, what do you think?

Sounds like a plan....the gears are TOO MUCH! 3.73 if ur gonna spray it. 4.10 if staying NA. TH350 sounds nice. 4k stall will be too loose though on a the juice. May wanna get a 3600 or so. Get a 9" rear under it and make ur gear swaps easier. Throw a 2-1/2" X-pipe with dynomax bullets on there and solve all exhaust issues. Oh, and put a 175 shot to it!

Is this to be a track only car? Because a 3-speed with a 4.56 gear will be terrible even if you just want to drive it to the track only. Also 4.56 will be to much gear if you ever plan on going to a 1/4 mile track. But if it is a track only car and youll only be runnin 1/8 mile then id say go even higher then a 4.56, maybe a 4.88. But yeah, the th-350 with a 4k stall seems to be workin real good for me, have loved it since day one. Also i would wait till you have ford 9" before you use the transbrake. Same reason i never got a transbrake because i was worried about braking the dang thing.
Edit: Forgot you plan on sprayin. Ya 4.56 should be good for 1/8th only then. Dont know what to recomend converter wise though for spray.

Yea im just building it for a 1/8th mile car since thats all we have around here. It might be my drag car since i have a terminator as a street car/ DD. 4.56 gears should be just enough to cross the traps i would think. thats true that may be a little lose a stall for spray so i may go smaller i dunno. and ill probley put a 200 plus shot on it or higher until it blows, i need a excuse to drop a lsx 408 in the thing anyway.
