Default Thinking about buying an LT355 Motor, Thoughts on it?

Here is what I know so far:
Stock block 30 over, stock crank, forged rods, hyperetectic pistons, stock heads cleaned up, new valvetrain, RRs, springs, GM847, etc. Compression is stock as well.
ARP Bolts?
Opti and Plug Wires
PCM w/ LT1Edit + Cable
Stock TB
16k on motor
1850

What do you guys think he had really low HP levels. Around 350HP... I was rather disappointed but thought maybe he had a bad tune and he was not sure that he has the LT4KM either...

So I am looking for thoughts on it. Would you pay the price for it? Is it not tuned right or is it the cam possibly?

Thanks! (He says there is more he just does not remember, I think he mentioned Crane for the Valve Train Upgrades and 1.6 RR's and I think he did a 4 Bolt Main but until he gives me all the build information I am unsure).

Also on another note I was surprised the TB was a stock, I also think he did some basic port work too.

was the 350 rear wheel or crank HP? If it was at the wheels was it M6 or auto? I would buy the motor if it had good hardware like ARP rod bolts, etc.

350 to the rear in a stalled auto sounds about right, so hopefully it was an auto.

350-360rwhp in a stock heads/compression gm847 car sounds right for a m6

Alright new question because I just put a deposit on the whole car as it comes with a lot of extra goodies that way including a twin disc clutch, New Rearend with 3.73's etc. (3500)

With Thinner Headgaskets and an LT4 Style Intake like the Edlebrock one or just a good ported one how would this do or should I be looking at another cam to really get it where I want it? (I want around 480HP at the wheels)

You aren't going to come near 480rwhp NA with anything currently being used in that combo other than the block and maybe the cylinder head cores if they are the right ones.

There is no advantage whatsoever by switch to a LT4 style manifold.

A ported stock manifold might net you 10-15rwhp

I am surprised considering my original 35 Build was supposed to be around that and it was just slightly higher compression and a different cam. So not even a cam swap will net this vehicle the ability to reach this goal huh. Hmm... Great.... I guess I was alittle broad to think this 35 would be able to get close to the build we were originally doing.

It's just not going to happen with stock heads, or heads and a cam on a stock CI motor not turning some high RPM

You need to call AI or LE.

Send them those heads and tell them what you want. Just "finding" a set of "ported" heads is a risky proposition.

Also let them spec a cam and port the intake to match the heads and you'll have a runner. Otherwise you might spend a whole lot on a pile of parts that could get walked by a bolt on car.

It happens.

there is nothing wrong with the GM847, it is a great cam in the right combo. It does seem like you are against this cam, which is fine, but the lack of power from this motor is coming from the stock heads. with the right heads 400 should not be a problem on a 355, good luck
