Anybody using zoom clutches
Hey guys I am ordering some parts to finish the list and get the car back on the road. Anyways I was wondering if anyone has used the zoom high performance clutch in our cars. Here is a link to it. It looks like a good price and I have a friend that just blew his out. Stock replacement with 25psi eclipse 420a..the one that was not a turbo car to begin with. Any info would be great.

I've got that clutch sitting in the garage waiting to go in the car. I couldn't find alot of info on it, I figured I'd give it a try. I only found 2 people using one and both had positive things to say! If you can get the search to work there's some pics of one next to a Ram that shows the difference in construction.

What "sold" me on the Zoom was I bought a RAM at the same time (easy return to Summit) and compared it with my old SPEC and stock clutch.
As the tech at ZOOM said they use a solid metal disc as the "backing" vs the other types that have "fingers" riveted to a inner hub connecting the outer friction ring of the clutch. The springs are larger and the rivets that do hold it all togeather are bigger. Basically the visual revue showed me a better product. After having the clutch in the car for a year now it performs well and has excellant street maners (after break-in).
I have a line lock and do 2nd gear burnouts at the track dumping the clutch at 3k RPM. Launch at 3k as well and not a wimper from the clutch, never even smell "clutch" after a run....did with the SPEC sometimes.
see a stage 4...not 5 but contact ZOOM

When i bought my 96 WS6 it had a brand new ZOOM like 50 miles on it. It fucked up my entire transmission. It was horrible. Chattered like nuts, slipped when new, smelled, and finally failed taking out my entire clutch system, and shift fork, and it snapped the shift fork and sent it flying through my starter so i was stranded in the middle of no where. Ill never buy anything from them again. Literally 3 days after i bought my car i had to put $1700 into it. I was happy

Yea i thought the same thing but when i looked it up online, it got all bad reviews. and on top of that, i returned it to summit i think, wherever it was bought from. They said to ship it to them and they would return it and they never got back to me and when i called they said they had no file for me so i was out the purchase price(if i had bought it) and shipping. I was only trying to get a good clutch from them for my bad one they sent. But they screwed me. just a bad situation.
