Exclamation help! car dies

my car will just stop running after it warms up. for example i leave for work in the morning when it is cool out and i have no problems. but later on in the day when i go to leave after the sun has been shining on my car all day it will die shortly after running. it has to have something to do with under hood temps! after the car dies i can usually not get it to start for another 2-3 hours after it has been sitting. any ideas?

I'd check:
-ICM
-fuel pressure
-Waterpump temp sensor.

waterpump temp sensor might make scene. i know my car has had cooling issues. last time i checked my fuel pressure i was at about 43psi on the rail. so i would think that is fine. and when it dies and i try to start it i can smell raw fuel outta the exhaust.

Not really. Autozone has a machine (only a few locations have the right cable) to test the ICM. Your best bet is to try a known working one. You should also perform the ICM cooling mod at the same time.

Take the double studed bolts that hold the ICM to the head, instead of bolting the ICM flush with the head, tighten the bolts into the head, then slip the ICM onto the bolts and use two nuts to tighten the ICM down. See pic (I didn't use any washers though, just used the doubled ended bolts):

I don't know, see how much it is from your local dealer, I like to stick to GM parts when it comes to vital sensors.
