well i just replaced the pump in my car and it seems to be runnin just fine but today when it got hot it lost power n sputtered n backfired a little bit. i know i did the pump right but my question is do u think that the sputtering was just caused by my accel ignition coil getting hot and fowling out?

Not much to go on there. I'd test your fuel pressure under load and when the car gets hot as you say.

You can always replace your coil if you suspect its bad. A replacement one is not too expensive.

Any codes?
