Default Thinking of boring out my thottle body...

Is boring out the throttle body the same as just buying a brand new one for $300? What do I need to know before doing this?

Seriously? Before you go calling thousands of LT1 owners "idiots", why not back yourself up with some type of logic?

If you want a 52mm (or even a 54mm), yes you can have your stock one ported by a professional. It's not something a novice should try. But if you want a 58mm, you are limited to purchasing an aftermarket throttle body.

Sorry if you think I'm an idiot for wanting a good-looking polished aluminum throttle body, and have the cash for it. I personally went with the Holley 58mm, and am very satisfied. I suppose that's idiotic.

Nope the stocker only allows for a 54mm or mono. Not sure if anyone would want to go mono with a stocker though.

Do you guys have any info on who does this service, I used to frequent the B-body sites and there was a Matt Blom that did this, I've lost his contact since though. Thanks.

I ported and polished it myself, NO biggie, gained about a 10th with all of my supporting mods, I also ported and polished the airfoil right into the airflow track, worked awesome
