clicking from engine
hi again guys, I have noticed that my car clicks. It sounds like its coming from each bank on the engine. Almost like the cams or valves are clicking as they rotate. But this happens on each bank at different times, so I heard about 2 clicks per second roughly. I have a 5.7l lt1 in a 97 ss with CompCams 230/230 cams, CompCams Pro Mag Roller Rockers, Chromoly Pushrods, Single Valve Springs w/Damper, ARP 7/16" RR Studs, 7 degree Locks, 5/16" Guideplates. I do not no if this is normal or not or if it is because of wear. I have never noticed it before, but it might have still been doing it. Any advice?
Thanks again guys

If the "click" changes with engine speed it can be one or all of the following:
loose spark plug(s)
valvetrain misadjustment
exhaust leak(s)
An exhaust leak is easy to diagnose. While going slowly put load on the engine (try to accelerate in a higher gear). If the "clicking" gets louder then it is most definitely an exhaust leak.

self aligning or nsa rockers? i was getting the same noise, and when i pulled the rockers, one had jumped off the valve stem, and the alignment tab was riding the stem. could be your problem if your not running guide plates
