4.000" Crank, 4.030" Bore, pretty much the same as what I have in the LS style, just the LT1 Rods are 6.000" instead of 6.125".
I wonder how they do.
This is where I got my info..

how much were your pistons and i kinda thought i was going to have a custom set just trying to see what brands everyone thinks are the best.
A 408 is not that bad you can get the crank off ebay and pick a set of rod and find a good shop to clearence it.

Mahle does not offer a off the shelf piston for any LT1 with a 4" stroke (unless something has changed recently). The only option I had when building my 410 was to buy a custom piston. I paid $675-700 for the Diamond's if I remember correctly.

There are mahle pistons that are stocked at mahle for a 4.0 stroke sbc with a 6.0 inch rod. They are offered in .030, .040, and .060. I purchased a set from Competition Products. They are offered only in the Power Pak series which comes with a rings set. These pistons have the 1 inch CH. for those interested in it I will find my reciept to get you the part number.
FWIW: I chose the eagle 4.0 forged crank, and the Scat Pro Comp I beam rod which has additional clearancing done for strokers, with these mahle pistons. The rotating assembly just clears everything, using these rods, with about the same clearancing as for a 3.85 stroke crank. Also with these pistons and rod combination the balancing works very nice as the lightweight of the rod and piston combo allows for a very noticable amount of material to be removed from the crank. I had my assem. balanced by shaving the crank throws and combined with the Prof Prod LT damper and Fidanza Flywheel the machine shop expects a fairly fast revving engine. I just got in my heads and I will be starting a thread soon, posting some pics of all the parts I have chose to use.
