was talking to someone tonight and they have a late model year 93 vette (he said something like code L) with the OBD2 connector like the 95 fbody has, but he claims he has gone through emissions via scanner port and not dyno. i thought that no car before the full 1996 OBD2 came out could be scanned for emissions? I really wanna know cause i said to someone who was there who is a C5 owner that I thought that the C4 and fbody both were obd 1 or 1.5 until 1996 and that person pointed out that "you apparently don't know as much as you think you know and the vette is a superior car to the fbody and thats why you can get emissions scanned on a 93 without the dyno test". i was a bit shocked at the response.

i thought some of the C4's were OBD 1.5 but i didn't think any of them could be scan tested for emissions until 1996.

anyone know?
