I didn't listen and went against everything I read. I bought one from Jeggs mainly because of the price. I have not had one problem with the Accel unit and with that, I'm happy with it.

Hey:
I don't know where the GM opti is best came from as the Dynaspark is a pretty much improved in every way opti, it is just not cheap, but you get what you pay for. I have well over 60,000 miles on a Dynaspark and still going strong, and got over 100,000 on GM opti it replaced, but have had a GM one go bad in less than 40,000 miles but it was the 93 style. They are not all created equal. I have used an MSD cap and rotor on a 93 GM replacement opti and that still works like a charm as well. Whatever you buy just make sure it assembled correctly, loctite the rotor bolts, and install it correctly and you should be fine.

I've got one with 50k on it, bought it when they first came out. Does ok for me with 7000rpm shifts, 2 water pump failures, and a few head/cam swaps. I did take it apart when I got it though and look everything over close and put some thread locker on the rotor screws which is a habit I've picked up.
