Default What is the CORRECT way to connect steel fuel line to rubber fuel hose?

I am doing some work to better route the fuel lines around my TD's.

What is the correct way to connect steel fuel line to rubber fuel hose?

I was told that you can slip the hose right over the pipe and use fuel line clamps which are similar to heater hose clamps but they wont dig into the rubber. This seems a bit ghetto and maybe unsafe to me.

What is the ideal way to do this?

if you wanted to do it right, youd need a pushlok fastener of the proper size to match the hard line.
youd flare it, use an AN nut and sleeve, then mate it to the pushlock fitting.

OR, you could use the method of pushing the hose on the hard line.
i would recommend pushing it on as far as you possibly can, and using 2 "fuel injection" clamps.
dont use the worm gear clamps in that situation.
everyone is going to tell you a different way, but its an idea.
good luck.

make sure you get the fuel injection rated hose also. Regular fuel hose is not made to take the pressure of fuel injection.

They are right. Get the fuel injection hose and flare your hard line. You could clamp it but I wouldn't recomend it. Good luck

Thanks guys.
I bought a pair of metal tubes with the OEM lib to connect to the plastic lines under the driver floorboard. I hope I can plumb the new metal pipe to the existing metal pipe and just use a pair of compression fittings and avoid the rubber tubing all together.
