Default 93 LT1 Idles @ 1800

I've got a 93 Lt1 in my '77 Volvo 244. It has been idling at 1800 rpm and I can't figure out why. I have tried reseting the IAC, checked for vacuum leaks, and made sure the TPS is reading right. Does anyone have an idea of what to check next?

Is the throttle stop bent?
The throttle cable too tight?
Vacuum leak? (specifically, the brake booster or one of the larger lines on the TB unplugged?)

^^Same thing I was thinking..sounds like one of the larger diameter lines are leaking.

No lines are unplugged but check again and make sure everything has a good connection.

Are there any other things to look for?

It sounds like you put a bigger throttle body on recently. Mine did the same thing until I twisted the IAC toward the front of the motor so far the the top screw actually sits behind the IAC. This set the idle down to about 850-900rpm.

It's actually all stock execept for the exhaust.

Could you explain this a little more? I've never had the IAC out and don't really follow.

try that... it may answer a question.

I have found that ls1lt1.com is the BEST lt1 advice you can get.

Last LT1 I bought for a retrofit did the same thing. After two weeks of looking for vacuum leaks and wiring problems, I realized someone had put the throttle body on (before I purchased the engine) without a throttle body gasket. You may want to double check.

I'll check this out and play with the IAC this weekend (the car is at a friends house 30 min. away which makes it hard to work on) and see what happens. Thanks guys.
