I think that is misrepresented, mid length headers are only legal up through the 95 model year. With the OBD2 switch GM went with a dual cat design with the left side catalytic converter directly after the manifold beside the block. If the catalytic converter has been so much as moved from the factory location you will fail visual inspection. There is no way to mount mid length headers and keep the cat in the factory location so those can not be CARB legal.

As for the Hooker catback exhaust...BUY IT!!! I have it on my 96 and it sounds excellent!!! Not obnoxiously loud but definitely sounds mean. And it is one of the best-flowing catbacks.

+1 on what JB said about the headers. Those would be legal up to 95, but not 96+ with dual cats.

when i bought my car the previous owner had cut the muffler off and had a straight pipe in place of it.. sounded like an old grain truck or something.. just sounded awful and --->obnoxiously loud<--- ..

i located a used flowmaster for $30 and had it installed for $20, so i had $50 in it all together, not to bad in my book.

alot of people on here dont like the flowmaster muffler, it sounds good to me and not to loud, plus from the straight pipe i had i got alot of the bottom end torque back..

Quick Reply: should i go with this header/exhaust set up
