As stated it would have to be for a roller valvetrain ('87 and up), ie stepped nose for the cam plate and depending on what year a car you have it would have to get the center reamed out to either fit a splined shaft for an OBDI opti or the centering shaft for an OBDII opti.

My plans were to go carb. also and ditch the optispark ¨!
Where do i get this stepped nose plate ? and where can i get double roller timing chain for the Lt1 ?
Would i need to go to small bace cam because of the longer stroke 3.75" ~ 383 cid...
Best regards.

the plate is on your block already... get any double roller for a 87+ block. i think the popular one is a cloyes 3145, i have a billet comp on there right now and i had to do a little modding. yea you'll probably need a smaller base circle, how much depends on the lobes. comp can provide some (limited) direction there. unless you're running some manly *** springs cam twist wont be much of an issue.

I want to run a cam that was in our 383 gen 1 engine in the past. that had 6" rods identical to mine if i remember correctly.
it's SR from Crower, it's 256/260 @ 50 and lift is .626/.626 with lsa at 105°
Needless to say this is just going to be street strip ride with limited street use.
