Default Auto Tranny Rev Limiter?

Quick question, what would the rev limiter be set to on a '93 Trans Am, with an automatic? I know it will shift before the rev limiter if I leave it in drive, but I am wondering how far I can push first gear if I select 1st instead of drive.

The factory rev limiter is set at 5886 RPM. Also, the PCM cuts fuel instead of spark so bouncing off the factory limiter isn't good.

Get a tune and have the rev limiter raised. Your shift points are controlled by the governor on the transmission, springs and weights.
