3.4 to 357
was experiencing problems with the 3.4 liter and felt i was throwing money into a hole so im doing a 350 swap. but i do have a couple questions. the 350 should bolt right up to a LT1 k member correct? if i still want my gauges to work, i just leave the computer in it but i dont need all the wires? and i have the 5 speed (is it the 4LE06....i think thats it ha), will it bolt up with the correct bellhousing or if i choose to go with a TH350, is there a different transmission mount i need? I know everyone is probably thinking "go buy a z" well to be honest I don't make enough to pay insurance and a possible car payment or I would lol thanks to all that help

No the 350 wont bolt right up, no the transmission wont work and depending on what transmission you use, all but the tach will work. The tach will still work but it is callibrated for the V6 so it doesnt work right. I know all this because I have done the swap....

Well I like carburation myself ha I've been told there's a intake you can buy that switches the LT1 to a carb but I've seen a guy on here clear the window with a high rise intake and I think a spacer. I'll try to get ahold of him

what I had in the picture was a L05 350 with 99 Vortec heads and a intake off ebay to match the heads. It was pretty simple biuld and not very expencive for me because I made everything I needed myself. I also had a mild cam, 750cfm Rochester carb and longtube headers along with 4.30 gears and I was easily beating mildly biult LT1 camaros. The transmission was a 700r4 out of a 89 Caprice with a B&M shift kit. I lowered it with a street rollcage and it was a very dependable car. Before I put the 4.30s in it I was averaging 26mpgs, so it was all around good.
Anyways I had a total of 1700 into the car and loved it.

I like carbed because I like the response and it's what I grew up with around a racing environment. If I did a LT1 or LS1 swap but I feel I'd have to much difficulty with the wiring. Plus I like to be different

Wiring is actually easy nothing to it. I think the fuel injections response is just as good as a carb.
Get the same year LT1 stuff as your year car.
LT1 cross member
LT1 engine w/ all accesories
LT1 engine harness
LT1 4L60E
LT1 PCM (auto)
LT1 instrument panel
LT1 fuel pump
LT1 fuel line
LT1 fuel filter
LT1 dual electric fan
LT1 battery
Get a wrecked downer car then should be plug and play not too difficult
