Default Please Identify this part

Hi everyone I just recently acquired a 95 LT1 Trans Am, and while driving I could smell gas. A friend of mine came over to help me find all the problems with the car and besides the surface rust underneath the smell of gas was a problem. We found this part that appears to be broken above the rearend and near the front of the gas tank, we could also smell fuel vapors.

I want to replace it because it looks dangerous to have fuel possibly spilling from there. Can anyone help me identify it? Is it maybe emmisions something or other?

Thanks,
-Buddy-

Also included a pic of my car if anyone is intrested in seeing it.

Like he said ^^ but the filter itself does appear to be broken. If you are smelling fumes away from the car make sure all fittings are attached to the charcoal canister in the driver side rear wheel well. It might have came loose and that is where the smell is coming from.
