BOOM! See you next year.
After the track being rained out for the past six weeks I finally got my chance to get a good run in Saturday morning. Last time track prep was terrible and there were a lot of spills that barely got cleaned up so the track was like ice. This time track prep was a little better but nothing good ever lasts. Best run of the day was my first out of three runs.
1.62 - 60'
7.68 - 1/8 et
87.55 - 1/8 mph
12.15 - 1/4 et
111.06 - 1/4 mph
My launches were great but the car seemed like it wasn't pulling as hard when once I got past the 60'. The next two runs were close to the same but getting slightly worse. After my third run I stopped to get my time slip and when I tried to move again it tacked to 3200 then after I let off a little it caught with a loud bang and I started moving. I decided it was time to go home and I'm happy I did. By the time I pulled in my driveway my car would barely move. Looks like it's time for a stronger tranny. This is the second one since I built the new motor.

Maybe it's time for the M6 mod. Been beating on mine for 13 years now and still running strong, bone stock too Been through a few clutches over the years but never touched the trans. Just a thought.

I plan on staying auto. You guys have some good luck but I've seen more than enough t56's destroyed with just bolt-ons. The cost of the conversion is also a lot more than having a full race rebuild done and buying a new converter. I can't do anything until next year anyway.

I can tell you for a fact that this converter does slip to some extent under full throttle but I'm not sure that was what killed the tranny. It was fine until the new motor and slicks. It really hurt my et's but that's all I can really say until I have it checked out. This tranny was just a stock rebuild that I bought used. I didn't expect much from it.

I'm a fan of the auto myself. I can't verify for sure but if I tracked down the correct past owners of my car the trans is a built up 4L60 and so far it has been through 75k miles of what I assume was constant abuse. Wish I could say the same about that rear end I blew to bits last weekend...
