My car has been nothing short of a delight to work on. That's why I still have it after 11 years.
I've found that they are FAR easier to work on when you have a COMPLETE understanding of all of the systems, how they work, how they go together, and how each affects eachother. It's cliche, but knowledge is power.

Changing plugs n wires with stock manifolds ****** sucks, took me and a bud 2 nights of working on it to get them done, then the fuel pump went out, and somehow, unknown to me at the time I got the firing order messed up, even though I and my buddy checked and checked the firing order more times than I could count. Broke down and took it to a mechanic and all was well again. My car I'm pretty sure wasn't beat on by the po, just the bastard never did any ****** maintence, the STOCK plugs n wires were in there for 105k, I knew that they needed changed, but I didn't know that bad, the gaps were .75" for ***** sake.

I admire some people online, Not just their Build, But the mechanical Skills that went into the build, As well as some people's ingenuity,
I think you need to find a local LSX guy and ask questions, Or perhaps even join a club, Many car club members are very Savvy Mechanics and willing to lend a hand,
Also perhaps buy an online Shop manual for your car, It helps to have Diagrams and illustrations
