Is the tune in the actual PCM or on that chip in the PCM. Say if i bought a new PCM from autozone could i put the old chip in it would it work that way or would i have to take it to the dealership to get it programed? It might be a dumb question but i cant find it on google.

92 & 93 were the only years to use the eprom chip, the 94 and up are flashed into the pcm. Are you thinking you need a new pcm? Very rarely do pcms need replacing, they don't go bad except sometimes when you tune and loose power/connection half way through.

you'll have to have it flashed... everything is soldered on the pcm boards except the KM is socketed.

Well i had some problems with it but my opti messed up at the same time also. the water pump leaked onto it and it shattered my rotor i just put a new cap and rotor on it and kept the opti but it keeps doing what it did before. is there a way i could check to see if the PCM is good? Im pretty sure that its bad since i replaced basically my whole ignition system along with the sensors and its not trowing any codes. I have new spark plugs, wires, icm, tps, water pump, iac valve. air temp sensor, cap and rotor, coil, and the fuel pump is strong. it will hesitate and misfire sometimes but them randomly it will snap out of it and run fine for a few seconds then start doing it again.
