'69 Camaro swapped with '95 LT1 Vette motor question?
I'm new here and recently bought a 69 Camaro with a 95 LT1 Vette motor with stock manifolds and some old rusty exhaust. I want to replace with new headers and exhaust but unsure if I get headers for a 95 LT1 Vette motor OR just a 69 Camaro SBC header? I want it to fit without hitting anything and clearance issues. The car is lowered about 2.5" from stock also. Thanks!

Only difference will be shape of the ports from the heads, as long as you're not using an aftermarket head with raised ports. The physical dimensions of the block and heads is the same as the SBC the car came with long ago. Clearance should not be an issue with the drop. 1st gen headers should work, IIRC.
Anyone else want to chime in?

Thanks for the fast responses! Originally I was looking at Hooker shorty super comp headers for a 95 LT1 Vette because of the D-ports and just having a down pipe made to connect to the MagnaFlow exhaust. Would this work? Then a friend said to get a SBC header for 69 Camaro and I got confused?

I have heard that if you use a 1 3/4" tube headers that you don't have to worry about running a D port header because the tube is big enough to seal the port. I have seen some 1 5/8" round port leak and others not on LT1 heads.
