Default Looking at another one....

So I got a call yesterday from a buddy of mine asking if I want to buy a 94 SS with a blown headgasket. The price isn't bad, but I'm going to look at it in a few hours and see what this SS is. IIRC there were no SS' in 94. So I may take some pictures, and from what he tells me it needs a headgasket, headliner and now a front bumper cover 'cause the towing company screwed it up. Real question is do I fix it and sell it or part it? Unless it's a 1LE or some other "rare" car I think it may be worth more in parts.... Oh well, only time will tell! Wish me luck.

What's he asking?

The SS models didn't start until 1996.

he's asking $1500...I figure if I can get it down a bit and put a few bucks in it I can probably make a little coin on it...lol I'm not looking to make it rich off of these cars. lol

Offer him $1000 cash, part it out, and triple your money. That's what I would do.

that's what I'm thinking. Any idea how to ID an original SS hood? I'm kinda hoping since I have yet to look at it, but I'll probably be going there in about an hour or so. lol

GM put the info (belt routing, emissions component) stickers on the hood of the WS6's. Don't know if it's the same for SS's

yea, I'm wondering if it'll have a GM part number on it. I know SLP made them, but they were able to be gotten from dealers, so it should have a pt. number....

well....I passed. The front bumper cover is beat from the tow trucks, the interior is in shambles and there's a nice baseball size hole in the floor board behind the pass. seat. It did have the 10 spoke C5 wheels and an aftermarket LS1 style SS hood. Unfortunately it's not worth what he wants and is too far to make any money flipping it. And since I don't have the room to store a potential parts car, it's getting let go....unless he wants to take like $500.. Oh well, there's always next time.
