Overheat Question
Made a post on here last night about my electric water pump failing, had to
drive the car for 5 miles with it overheating. I did stop several times to let it
cool off. Next question is, could there be any damage that may not be
obvious? My oil still looks and smells clean (although I plan on changing it from
getting it so hot) as well as my coolant, and its not having any studdering or
new odd engine noises, also no white smoke that I can visibly see with it
running. Might I of gotten lucky and made it without any engine damage?
Thanks

It depends on your definition of "overheating". If you were attentive enough to stop and let it cool several times, then maybe you are ok. Of course, a head gasket might have gotten slightly compromised and may let go later. All you can do is deal with what you have at present.
