M6 vs A4 fuel economy read, opinions, thanks...
I currently own a 95 m6 but I was thinking about trading for a slightly better condition a4 cosmeticly. So I've heard the a4 are horrible on gas. I love the economy I'm getting from my m6, I burn $40 every week and a half and I drive quite a bit. But will the a4 hurt me in gas that much? Are they truely THAT bad? Opinions?

A lot of it has to do with your driving habits and how well the car is running.
I had an A4 97 Z28 with 373s and a cold air intake.
I was averaging 19.5 miles per gallon before installing a ss3600 stall. Then I was getting around 15.
I now have the M6 97 Trans am in my sig and Im averaging 17-18 miles per a gallon. Both are driven on the same roads every week with the same traffic going to and from work. About 40% city and 60% highway. I was surprised by the A4's gas mileage and am dissapointed by my M6. I need to do a full tune up and I bet Ill be seeing 20+ MPGs.

I'm just wondering if I should do it cause I tell a4 drivers the MPG I'm getting and usually get the same "broo I blow like 60 a week" story which is retarded. For that I go back to a clean third gen lmao

I would average 18-9 in town mostly puttin with the sorta fequent romp on the skinny pedal. On the highway I would get 25mpg consistantly doing about 80 with the t-tops off, the best I ever got was 27.5 doing 75 with the a/c on. M6, stock except cat delete and hooker muffler. Personally I wouldn't go from an m6 to an auto, but that's just me, I really enjoy rowing through the gears, that and its cool that we have 6 gears lol.

Here's a good test:
My stripped option 95 Z28. It's the car in sig but at the time it was an A4 and just had JBA shorties, a borla catback, and a cold air intake. 2.73 gears
Friend's stripped option 95 Formula. M6, SLP loudmouth, cold air intake. 3.42 gears.
Cross country from LA to Milwaukee: on every single tank she got almost exactly 1 mpg better... we drove at the same speed and both used cruise control. The only variable here is if one person's car had tires with more air pressure than the other which I didn't bother to look for.

I believe im getting around 10-12mpg with my new 383. Its been mostly city and i tend to get on it fairly often. I just got it tuned so i might see a small increase and the motor only has 400 miles so its not broke in yet either.

I've had a couple different from stock to stroked and the 6 speed seems to get a couple mpg's better My dads 95 z28 a4 gets 25ish my stroked 6 speed gets 23ish aslong as i stay out. The stock 6 speed got on average 26ish mostly highway.
