Questions about VATS system & aftermarket alarms

Questions about VATS system & aftermarket alarms Alright my security light is on, has been on for awhile but still starts up, knock on wood. In the near future when i get my tune, if i just get the VATS tuned out or off will that resolve that light? Next, if the VATS is tuned out, can an aftermarket be added with no problems? Would an aftermarket alarm just bypass the current VATS too?

The light is going to stay on, even if you get it tuned out. If the problem is that it is not reading the key pellet, then repairing or using a resistor to bypass the key pellet will turn off the light. AFAIK, the only thing they do with an aftermarket alarm is do the key resistor bypass.
