Yea im trying to. The pump isn't located under the driverside headlight on my car. I think its right below my blaster because that's where both of the lines run to from the exhaust manifold

You can take it off and block the holes left in the manifolds (you need an M22 drain plug) and block the hole in the intake ducting (5/8" vacuum cap). Keep a good fuse in the system and you'll be fine.

Your AIR pump is located directly below the coil.

Its pretty simple to remove...just buy some plugs for the manifolds or cut the stock fittings. I can't remember if there are any codes for the air pump but you can have it deleted off the computer.

I recommend just cutting the metal A.I.R tube that goes down the passenger side, under the engine, back up to the driver side. That was a pain in the *** get get out.

Believe it or not, that's GM procedure for R&R of the pipe. Cut it, remove it, then put it back in using a piece of hose to splice the two halves together.

Thank you! I read some other threads saying that it would throw a code if you did not have it tuned out, I figure this avoids that.

My 94 didn't throw a code, but it also would not turn the fans on unless the air pump relays were taken out, in which case it did throw a code for me. My car also hates me...

I know the feeling. So regardless of !AIR, the fans would not come on without the AIR relays being pulled?

After reading around, everyone said to buy P/N: BK 7041378 for the M22/1.5 drain plugs. I bought 2 at napa for like $8/each.

They did not fit, the bolt was too thick. So much for that. Now I am trying to find the right size bolt so that I can get it tuned out soon in a mail order tune... did I miss something?

This is the first time working on this situation. I am changing the water pump in my 94 Z28 it has the air pump and bracket. I am reading this can be deleted. Do you need to take out the metal tubing that runs from side to side under the block? How many of the M22 drain plugs do I need? Thanks in advance.
