It would be far simpler to just throw the 95 engine and PCM in as is. It should already have the correct knock sensor in the block to match your pcm. The computer will plug right up to your 97 harness. You will now be OBD1.

Your guages and everything else will be uneffected. Your whole car will now "think" it's a 1995 model essentially.
You don't need to swap timing covers if you stick with the already tuned 95 PCM.

i would but pretty sure the 95 ecm is bad tries to start then its like it shuts it down and my guages are all messed oil pressure guage goes all the way up right when u turn the key. so my question is will it fire without the relucter or will the ecm safety need to be turned off. also the digital display is lit up with nothing on it

I have a 383 out of a 95 Camaro in my 97 Camaro. I kept my 97 Pcm.I ditched the reluctor wheel and stuck with the 95 timing cover and hub that came on the motor and had that sensor tuned out. My opinion is keep your 97 PCM and use the 95 timing cover and hub and just have the sensor tuned out.
