lol, that would defeat the purpose of the corbeau fx1 pro i bought for 250$ and the bracket for 115$. I bought this seat because my stock one was totally fucked, ripped everywhere, most of the plastic was gone or broken.
Wondering if i could weld some threaded rod to a rectangular peice of steal, drill a hole in one end and bolt it to the existing mounts, then bolt the seat to the threaded rod side. Do that for the 4 mounting points and maybe it would work. a 3" peice might not mess everything up, even though the floor is the way is it, i think 3" back the floor doesnt change much...who knows how sturdy it would be though. another thought was to notch the slider more, but i think it has built in stops to keep it from sliding back farther.
hmmm.

I would just make the brackets you have work by adding plates to offset it 2-3". Just make sure everything works properly before you weld it all solid. I'm sure cutting and welding on the seat braket will weaken it a little.

I think with the seat sitting farther back it wont look as weird. I only took the t-tops off to get good pics and let light into the car. I hardly drive with them off, when i do its mostly at nights, i hate people being able to see me lol.
Yea i wouldnt be welding it, I know people who have been welding longer then i have been alive, or close to it.
Would you put the plates on the seat bracket to floor, or seat to seat bracket?

This is true. I was goin with if he just welded everything together and realized he had to cut it all off and move it. I've been a fabricator for 9 years and seen people ruin the structural integrity of the metal by not mocking things up first.

Im 7 ft myself and I have had the same issue your facing now. What I did was cut the factory track and rewelded the legs on so they were pretty much flat. The solved the to tall issue from the new seat on factory track. I have also made my own tracks before using otheres as templets and adding or removing where nessary

Head doesnt hit the t-top glass or stick out of the t-tops lol. The worst part is that i dont have a welder, nor metal to work with. So the car will probably get the stock seat back in it for now and that seat will go get brackets put on if i cant figure out how to make it go farther back with what i have.

actually i contacted corbeau and they make some extender bars, i beleive they are pictured here in this photo that i found. (peice is on the bottom of the picture)
doesnt look like to much fabrication work involved there....im just sayin i think you unbolt the seat track, bolt that it, and rebolt the seat track to the offset holes that are about 3" farther back. would only raise the seat 1/8 -1/4 inch to depending on the thickness of the steel flat bar...and look at that, a trendy builders home supply store has some 1" x 3/16 x 36" instock for under 6$....hmmmmm
( i never said id build it)

I had to make some for my Sparco Milano's like that, I ended up putting the stock seats back in because I couldn't get them to fold far enough forward for my boys to ride in the back. With a hard top the seat top would hit my headliner also... Do you still your factory brackets, I would modify those first if you have them.

I think it will be ok, just sucks. People complain about being short, I hate being tall, everyone assumes you play basketball or atleast like it, miata's and mr2's and lotus are out of the question. and you basically have to buy a liter bike if you want to ride comfortably on a sport bike.
