Muffler lenght
Hy guys I was looking on summit to buy a Magnaflow muffler but i see they have different case lenght. What lengt do u guys normally buy to install on our cars (1994 z28)
The one i was looking at are 1 inlet(3 intch)/2 outlet (2.5 intch).
P/N are 12388, 12588, 12288, 12198. or if you guys know any other with the correct lenght let me know as long its magnaflow (i dont want a loud muffler thats why i want to get rid of the flowmaster)

i have only owned 3
1. stock (a given)
2. flowmaster
3. magnaflow (current)
at first magnaflow and flowmaster sound about the same at idle. the magnaflow is slightly louder under acceleration. over the course of a year myself and others have noticed it has gotten progressively louder. everyone loves it but it is not quiet.

Which flowmaster do you have on there now? The american thunder version or there standard f/body crossflow? I currently run a pypes Race pro crossflow, Idle to around normal driving rpm's for me its tame ( idle to around 3000rpms) Wot it really Wales... Idle and normal driving is a little on the quit side for my taste but there violator series was just to much. I guess there violater with a resonator in the I-pipe would be ideal for me. I currently have long tubes and custom off road y-pipe that has a perfect smooth transition merge that runs longer then a normal f/body y-pipe that you would normally see. Id say its quieter then a flowmaster...........

Before my pypes I had a Magnaflow. The race pro is def louder then the magnaflow but quieter then a flowmaster. It really has a nice pleasing sound. Sounds nothing like any the of normal systems lt1 guys run ie hooker, flowmaster,magnaflow.....Its close to a GMMG sound wise but not. I really liked the edelbrock sdt cat back I had on my firehawk. Thats a great sounding cat back nobody really runs........

the magnaflow 12267 is what i have on my car, it's slightly shorter than stock so the shop had to extend the pipe on one side to get to the tailpipe. Here's a vid of it. the rest of my exhaust is stock.

I have an Edelbrock cat-back on my 93 with chambered SDT muffler. The case length is 17", and is 21" long overall, 3" in, dual 2.5" out, with 3" tailpipes. No resonance at all, just a deep throghty tone.
