lt1 knock sensor bypass
I have a 93 z28 lt1 obd1 so i cant use a lt4 km. i get a little timing taken off from 3000rpm up to redline and its pulling about 5 degrees. i was wondering if i could just set up a ground to the knock sensor wire and if it would stop all knock. ( i just want one or two good runs at the track. im soooooo close to 13's i can taste it.) i heard of people running a resistor through the ks wire and i also heard someone set it up to a toggle switch. i have headers and a exhaust clamp the toches my oil pan a little and thats wherei think the false knock is from. could i even just unplug it for one run at the track or will that put it in limp home mode or something.
o yeah i put this on here before and i didnt get any good replies so im just tring again. thanks

a 3500-3900ohm resistor 1/4watt is what i use
to bypass the KS. solder a ground alligator
clip on one side and old KS connector pin on
the other side. like ed says, if the scanner
isnt available, then the resistor is a lucky
tool to use.

this is what i found on thirdgen.org but do you go through the knock sensor still or do you just go to a ground?
