Default My first 383 Build

Im new to the forums and Im finishing up my 383 lt1 build.I was looking for input on the build.i went with a scat forged crank,eagle forged 6" h beam rod,forged srp -5cc flat top pistons,afr 195cc heads with 65cc chambers,comp cams ultra gold 1.6 rockers,custom ground 297/300 duration .573/.573 lift cam,Tpis mini ram intake,tpis monoblade tb,msd pro billet opti,4 bolt splayed mains,pacesetter longtubes,either 36 or 42lb injectors(tbd),tremec t56,moser 9" with a 3.73 gear and a possible 150 shot.Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

you will be making some power so my $.02 would be put in a twin disc clutch....

A aggressive single disc will work but for the long run the twin will outlast it and perform very well.

It was either going to a ported intake through Advanced induction or the mini ram.

I like the mini ram, the only problem I have with it is price...lol
The reason why I asked compression is the smaller chamber with a matching area appropriately sized piston dish is the best way to go, but then again youre not building a NASCAR...lol. Engine looks sweet.

I picked up the valve covers through summit.

You're going to need to contact SpeedInc for the Machinehead.com accessory relocation brackets in order to clear your valve covers. Very nice build and should make very good power. Here are some pics of the brackets mounted on my new engine also.

With thosr valve covers the alternater wont mount in its original position?

About how much of a HP/torque advantage is the mini-ram vs. a ported stock LT1 intake anyways? Just curious

Those valve covers will work with the stock alternator. You just need to grind the alternator down a little and it will slip right into place. Looks great
