Question will i pass e check

I bought a single cutout and i want to get headers and just put dual cutouts in the ory. I need to have cats so i was thinking i would move my single y pipe cat now down a little in the I pipe. My question is will i pass emissions? Will the cat being in the I pipe affect my gmmg sound, and flow rate as in hp? This is vital on my set up thanks fellas!

What's all done to the car? If stock cam then I doubt you will fail, however you may fail the visual (if there is one and if they care). It's illegal to move a catalytic converter anywhere other than the stock location. I believe it is also frowned upon to have cutouts before the catalytic converter(s).

just cai, magnaflow highflow Y with highflow cat into a GMMG, shift kit. all stock internals, I think they put a mirror to check for cat, not sure how strict they are.

I have my random technology hi-flow cats in the stock location and i had a hard time as they weren't oem. Random Technology sent me a paper saying they were legal so I was good to go. I would imagine the cat being in a non-stock location is going to be a problem (for no reason... I cannot stand e-check at all.) But I am up in lake county, hopefully you will get a younger person who just passes it all without looking.

Do yourself a favor and make friends with a local mechanic or service manager...you can get anything passed if you know the right people, or be prepared to slip them a crisp Franklin

****.....that's what I was afraid of. How can I have cuts outs before cats and stay e check friendly. I don't want to have cutout after cats seems pointless. Been pondering on this for 2 weeks on here. Solutions?

You will not pass with cutouts before the cats. At this point in the game you most likely need to find someone willing to take a few dollars under the table.

I just passed e check back in May with my car. I'm running MAC mids with an off road pipe where the cat is supposed to go. When I go for e check (I'm up in Painesville, Ohio), I just put the factory cat back in place and I have zero issues this way. I do not have a cutout installed, so I can not say for certain what their response will be. I've been doing this for the last 6 years.

I too have a GMMG exhaust and the cat really tones it down.

Oh BTW - all of this is also with running a 227/233 .560/.569 cam. The car actually runs cleaner than when it was stock and I have all of my old e check papers to prove it.

Why do you want cutouts? IMO they sound awful, especially on a stock motor. Your not gonna gain much from having them anyway. I would do what Buddy95z Did and have an off road pipe made to replace the cat. Catless system with longtubes and a ORY will support plenty of power in the future and sound great.
