Default clutch master/slave

what happens if you push in the clutch without it being connected to the bellhousing?
the clutch has previously been installed but the plastic strap never broke until...it got pushed in while not installed.
is everything going to be okay or did something bad happen?

Breaking the plastic strap won't hurt anything. Its just there to hold the rod in position while you bolt it to the bellhousing.

How hard did you push the pedal? If the slave is fully extended out, the clutch pedal will be hard. If you force the pedal down when its hard like this, something will probably crack open and puke fluid everywhere, usually the slave.

If you didn't push the pedal hard and nothing exploded, you've prbobaly got nothing to worry about.

i dont know how hard it was pushed on. it wasnt me it was a friend of mine. its hard to really get a straight answer as to how hard it was pushed or any details about what he actually did. i can assume since his camaro is an auto and mine is 6 spd that he was pretending to drive a manual and pushed it in quite hard.
it didnt puke anything out so thats good!
