Default Traction control won't turn off.

I have a 1996 Trans Am with a M6 and 122,000 miles on it. One day I go to flip my traction control off, and the light on the dash doesn't flip on, and it was still kicking in. The light on the switch flips on and off, just no way to turn it off. Anyone had this problem, or any ideas how to get it to turn back off?

Open your hood and you will see the TC / CC box by your air filter, simply unplug the two top plugs and your TC will be off. Not a fix but a solution.

It's TCS on the Pontiacs. Same system, just called different.

I thought the Pontiac system was a 2nd gear start option. ASR physically closes the TB blades to arrest low traction. Did the later Pontiacs come with a different system like the ASR?
